ISTANBUL (AA) – Within the scope of the Tree of Ummah project carried out by the International Imam Hatip Alumni and Members Association (UIHM), saplings were planted simultaneously in 50 countries. According to the information obtained from UİHM, saplings were planted by International Imam Hatip graduates and members in 50 countries, including Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Somalia, Sudan, Niger, Chad, Tanzania and Morocco.
The project, which aims to combine environmental awareness with ummah awareness and understanding of brotherhood, brought together graduates from different nations and cultures around a common goal in a wide geography from the Balkans to Africa, from Central Asia to the Middle East. With the project, it was emphasized that being an ummah is not just a statement, but a value shaped by common responsibility, common conscience and common future awareness, and each sapling planted became a symbol of unity, brotherhood, solidarity, compassion and hope.
– 400 saplings were distributed at Ibn Haldun University. International Imam Hatip Graduates carry out active duties in many fields from education to diplomacy, from academia to civil society in their own countries. The Tree of Ummah project stands out as one of the most meaningful works of this global alumni network reflected in the field. Within the scope of the project in question, events were also organized in Türkiye.
The UİHM stand opened at Ibn Haldun University attracted great attention from students, academics and representatives of non-governmental organizations. While the Tree of Ummah project was introduced at the stand, approximately 400 saplings were distributed. On the other hand, the source of inspiration for the project is the messages and advice of the Prophet Muhammad about producing even in the most difficult conditions, contributing to the soil and leaving hope for the future.
The project, which was implemented with inspiration from the hadiths, stands out not only as a sapling planting activity, but also as a movement to grow goodness, build the future and build permanent bridges of brotherhood in the geography of the Ummah. – Every sapling planted is a trust left to the common future. IHR President Abdolvahab Salarzehi, in his evaluation of the project, stated that the work is aimed to spread to a wider geography in the coming years.
Salarzehi emphasized that the sapling plantings carried out in 50 countries on the eve of Eid should not be seen only as an environmental activity and said: “This meaningful work is not just an environmental project for us. Every sapling planted is a trust left to the common future, brotherhood and hope of the ummah. Our goal in the coming period is to create International Imam Hatip Alumni Memorial Forests in many countries.
We want to strengthen the brotherhood of our graduates in different geographies of the world with permanent works, combine the awareness of the Ummah with environmental awareness and leave hope to future generations. While it is emphasized that the saplings planted in different parts of the world are seeds of hope left to the common memory and future of the ummah, it is aimed to spread the project to more countries in the future, to create International Imam Hatip Alumni Memorial Forests in different geographies and to transform the movement into a permanent charity campaign.
