Aito, under the umbrella of HIMA, officially launched its new generation flagship SUV model M9 in China. The new M9, which comes in Max, Ultra and Ultimate Extended Edition versions, was listed at prices ranging from 479,800 yuan to 659,800 yuan. This price range corresponds to approximately $70,600 and $97,000 at the current exchange rate.
New Aito M9 goes on sale in China
The new Aito M9 has been added to the product range with range extender hybrid and fully electric powertrain options. The model can be preferred with 4-seat, 5-seat and 6-seat cabin layouts. M9, which is Aito’s flagship in the full-size SUV class, is offered for sale in the new generation with both the standard body and the extended Ultimate Extended Edition version.

The standard version of the new M9 has dimensions of 5,285 mm in length, 2,026 mm in width and 1,845 mm in height. The wheelbase of the vehicle was announced as 3,125 mm. These dimensions increase the length by 55 mm and the wheel distance by 15 mm compared to the previous model. In the Ultimate Extended Edition version, the length increases to 5,402 mm and the wheelbase increases to 3,236 mm. This version features chrome B-pillar trim and Ultimate badges.
On the design side, the Aito M9 retains the brand’s Kunpeng Wing design language. The vehicle has smart projection headlights that can display interactive signals. New color options include Desert Gold Brown, Sayram Blue and Canghai Silver Blue.

The standard version with range extender comes with a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline generator and dual electric motors. This system produces a total of 497 kW, that is, 667 horsepower. According to the CLTC norm, the pure electric driving range of the vehicle was announced as 340 km and 422 km, depending on the version. The maximum total range reaches 1,405 km.
The fully electric Aito M9 is built on 800V high voltage architecture. In this version, a CATL signed 120 kWh battery is used. According to the CLTC norm, the maximum range is given as 750 km. The electric version takes 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.

Ultimate Extended Edition, the most powerful version of the series, comes with a 2.0-liter turbo range extender and three electric motors. This version produces a total of 664 kW, that is, 890 horsepower. The maximum speed of the model, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.99 seconds, was announced as 251 km/h.
On the chassis side, the Huawei Tuling active platform is used. The new M9 features dual-chamber air suspension, CDC shock absorbers and ±8 degree rear wheel steering system as standard. Ultimate Extended Edition, which is over 5.4 meters long, has a turning radius of 5.1 meters with this system.

On the cabin side, the Harmony Cockpit 5.2 system comes with the new M9 for the first time. The system works integrated with Pangu and DeepSeek large language models. The interior features a triple screen layout with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and two 17.2-inch 3.4K displays. Additionally, a 32-inch pop-up projection screen is included in the option list. On the sound system side, the Huawei Sound system with a power of 2,920W is used.
On the smart driving side, Aito M9 comes with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5.0 system. The hardware package includes six LiDAR, five millimeter wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars and 12 high-resolution cameras. This system provides full vehicle-to-vehicle scenario navigation support and advanced parking functions.

On the security side, Xuanwu Architecture 2.0 architecture is used. 91 percent of the body consists of high-strength steel and aluminum alloy. Submarine-grade hot-formed steel at 2,200 MPa is used in critical areas such as A and B pillars.
