3 workers died after being electrocuted in a factory in Samsun

SAMSUN (AA) – 3 workers working in a factory in Tekkeköy district of Samsun lost their lives due to electric current. Naci Gezer (46), Mustafa İnanç (50) and Yusuf Çekiç (47), who were working to fix the water pump malfunction in the well where wastewater is collected at the iron and steel factory in Kutlukent District, were electrocuted. Upon notice, AFAD, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality fire department, police and medical teams were dispatched to the region.

Medical teams determined that 3 workers died at the scene. The bodies removed from the well by AFAD officers were sent to Samsun Forensic Medicine Group Presidency. Following the incident, production at the factory was suspended. 1 deputy chief prosecutor and 2 public prosecutors were assigned within the scope of the judicial and administrative investigation into the incident. Public prosecutors went to the scene and investigated with a team of three experts.

It was learned that the investigation was carried out by the Provincial Police Department Public Order Branch Homicide Bureau teams. On the other hand, the funeral of Naci Gezer, the father of two workers, was held at the Prophet’s funeral in İlkadım district. He was buried in Derecik Cemetery after the funeral prayer performed after the noon prayer in Ömer Mosque. It was learned that the bodies of the other 2 workers will be buried after the afternoon prayer.
