BATTAMBANG (AA) – Turkish Religious Foundation (TDV) delivered sacrificial meat to 2 thousand families in need on the first day of the Eid in the Southeast Asian country of Cambodia. TDV organized sacrifice by proxy in 84 countries this year with the slogan “Share your sacrifice, get closer to your brother.” In Cambodia, one of the countries where the organization was held, foundation officials and volunteers who came to the country before the holiday provided the sacrificial animals with the donations of philanthropists.
The sacrificial animals, which were checked by veterinarians and officials and met the necessary conditions, were taken to designated slaughter areas throughout the country by TDV teams and slaughtered. On the first day of the holiday, 100 cattle were slaughtered and the meat was delivered to families in need. Citizens showed great interest in the sacrificial meat distribution ceremony held in Battambang province. Speaking at the ceremony at Nuru Islam Mosque, Cambodian Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Nos Sales, stated that he attended the ceremony on behalf of Othsman Hassan, Senior Minister of Special Duties (Islamic Affairs).
Sales stated that holidays are days that teach sacrifice, faith and generosity, and we would like to express our special thanks to the Turkish Religious Foundation delegation. We are grateful for the greetings and support provided to our society through TDV. Their generosity and international solidarity mean a lot to us. he said. Bilal Aksoy, Chief Inspector of the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs, who was in the TDV delegation, stated that they were happy to deliver the trusts of philanthropists in Türkiye to those in need.
Expressing that brotherhood knows no boundaries, Aksoy said that the essence of Eid al-Adha is sacrifice, faith and unity. It reminds us that we are all brothers. Our brotherhood goes beyond borders. As Muslims, we believe that we should support each other when needed and regardless of the circumstances. True brotherhood means not leaving any of our brothers alone. he said. Battambang Governor Leang Veasna also thanked the Turkish people for their help.
In addition to the sacrificed meat distributed to families in the mosque courtyard, TDV teams also reached the homes of those in need and delivered their sacrificed shares to them. On the first day of the holiday, 2 thousand families were made happy. Tomorrow in Battambang, 50 cattle will be sacrificed for the shareholders entrusted to TDV and distributed to those in need. Tomorrow, sacrificed meat will be delivered to the homes of 1000 families.
In this year’s Cambodia Sacrifice by Proxy Organization of TDV, which is carried out in cooperation with the Cambodian Muslim Teachers Association and the Cambodia Development Foundation, sacrificial meat will be distributed to the homes of 3 thousand families. 116Traditional products prepared by women in Bektaş village, with a population of 360 in Çanakkale’s Ayvacık district, are offered for sale through the cooperative they established.
