ISTANBUL (AA) – Istanbul Governor Davut Gül met with the residents of Darülaceze, whom he visited on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, for breakfast and congratulated them. Governor Gül, who came to the Hospice Presidency in Şişli, was welcomed by Hospice President Elmas Esra Ceceli İslam and officials. Speaking after the breakfast program, Governor Gül said that the Darülaceze, with its 130-year history, has carried out works that can be noted in the world in line with its mission, and that they come together with the residents of the Darülaceze every holiday.
Stating that they are trying to have a holiday where three generations are together, Gül said, “I would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially our Diamond President. Darülaceze is the apple of our state and nation’s eye in this period, as it has been for 130 years. It is an organization that our President cares about, worries about, protects and embraces. he said. Gül stated that the Darülaceze campus, built under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Arnavutköy, is a facility that will be among the top 5 when compared to its own standards on a world scale.
Noting that this facility shows the compassionate face and soft hand of the state, Gül said, “We have not come this far with only the resources of our state for 130 years.” We have contributions from our philanthropists and volunteers. I congratulate all of us on the holiday. he said. Hospice President Elmas Esra Ceceli İslam also said that Eid al-Adha is not just a performance of worship, it is a name for getting closer, sharing, forgetting the resentments and coming together.
Islam stated that Darülaceze, the bastion of compassion and mercy for more than 100 years, is the first place where the nation’s heart beats every holiday morning. Noting that the Darülaceze is not just a place consisting of stones and walls, İslam stated that the Darülaceze is the most beautiful living and breathing monument of the deep-rooted civilization, the value it gives to people, the gratitude felt to the elders, and the compassion shown to the little ones.
Hospice volunteer mother Havva Gürak said that the most beautiful holiday is experienced at the Hospice, where grandmother, grandfather and grandchild meet at the same table, and that the institution is a unique social service institution in the world.
