In its latest weather report dated May 14, 2026, the General Directorate of Meteorology warned about a rainy and windy weather system that is expected to affect most of Turkey. According to the evaluations, meteorological risk at code yellow level is predicted in 39 provinces. While partly and sometimes very cloudy weather is expected throughout the country, it has been reported that intermittent showers and thunderstorms will be effective throughout the day in many regions.

It was stated that rains may be heavy in places, especially in the central and western parts. Yellow Code Warning in 39 Provinces Among the provinces that Meteorology warned with a yellow code, there were many cities including Adana, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Antalya, Konya, Samsun, Balıkesir, Eskişehir, Kayseri, Kütahya, Manisa, Zonguldak, Bolu and Çanakkale. In the areas where warnings were issued, people were asked to be careful against negativities such as sudden floods, floods, lightning, local hail and transportation disruptions.

The wind may reach 70 km/h. According to the report, it is estimated that the wind, which is expected to blow from the south in the inner parts of Central Anatolia, the Central Aegean and the Black Sea, may get stronger from time to time and reach a speed of 40 to 70 kilometers per hour. It was stated that this situation could create a short-term storm effect. Weather by Regions Marmara Region: Intermittent showers will be effective along with very cloudy weather.

Rainfall is expected to be heavy in places around Çanakkale, Bursa and Bilecik. Aegean Region: Rainy weather will spread throughout the region from the morning hours. Locally strong showers are predicted in inland areas. Mediterranean Region: It was reported that heavy rains will be effective around Antalya, Isparta and Burdur, and the wind may become stronger in the inland areas. Central Anatolia: Intermittent showers are expected during the day in many cities, especially Ankara, Konya and Eskişehir.

Black Sea: While local heavy rains stand out in the Central and Western Black Sea, the effect of rains is expected to increase in Samsun and Amasya surroundings. Eastern Anatolia: While there is heavy rain in the northwest of the region, short-term heavy rains are predicted in some centres. Southeastern Anatolia: While local rains are expected in the northern parts of the region, partly and slightly cloudy weather will prevail in the southern provinces.

Warning from Meteorology Meteorology officials stated that citizens should be careful and cautious in regions where heavy rain and wind will be effective. It was requested to be prepared especially against the risk of sudden floods and transportation disruptions.
