Insta360 announced the Retro Bundle package for the GO 3S model. The new package combines the 39-gram 4K camera with a body with an optical viewfinder reminiscent of classic film cameras and centers on the Retro Viewfinder accessory, which is viewed from waist level instead of the screen. What does the Insta360 GO 3S Retro Bundle offer? Insta360 GO 3S Retro Bundle repackages the brand’s small-sized POV camera with a retro-looking shooting experience.
At the center of the set is the Retro Viewfinder. This accessory places the GO 3S camera at the front, mimicking the use of a waist-level viewfinder on classic film cameras. Users can frame the shot via the optical viewfinder without looking at the screen. The viewfinder also has a built-in selfie mirror for quick self-portrait shots. In the new package, the camera is used with the Retro Viewfinder instead of the digital-screen Action Pod.
Therefore, operations such as shooting modes, settings, filters and preview are managed through the Insta360 application. Thanks to the NFC Custom Skin accessory, the Insta360 application opens quickly when the phone is touched to the camera, from where the user can preview images, edit clips or change camera settings. Live Activities support on iOS and Android also provides access to recording controls and camera status information from the phone lock screen.
Battery Pack is also included in the Retro Bundle package. This additional battery increases the recording time to 76 minutes and offers charging support while recording. The package also includes a strap for daily carrying, a Magnet Pendant that can be magnetically fixed to clothing, a pre-attached Lens Guard and a USB-C to USB-A cable. With these accessories, the camera can be hung around the neck, attached to a bag, used on clothing or placed on metal surfaces.
GO 3S Retro Bundle maintains existing GO 3S features such as 4K video recording, FlowState Stabilization, QuickCapture, FreeFrame Video, Auto Editing and Stats Dashboard. The camera can be used in the hand, on the body or on different surfaces with its 39 gram independent body. On the water resistance side, resistance is offered up to 33 feet, that is, approximately 10 meters. Images captured with FreeFrame Video can be exported in different social media ratios.
Stats Dashboard, on the other hand, can add real-time data from Apple, Garmin, COROS or iGPSPORT devices to the videos. The package also supports the retro look on the software side. Insta360 offers three exclusive film-style filters with this release: Negative Film, Positive Film, and Sticker Filter. While Negative Film gives a softer, cold-toned and low-saturation appearance, Positive Film creates the feeling of a slide film with higher contrast and saturation.
Sticker Filter adds retro patterns and film-like colors to photos. GO 3S also comes with a total of 11 built-in color profiles, including five new film-inspired profiles, including NC, CC, GR-F, Mono and Vintage Vacation. Insta360 GO 3S is available in Retro Bundle, Canvas White and Classic Red color options. The package is offered with two storage options: 64 GB and 128 GB. The US price was announced as $ 249.99 for the 64 GB version and $ 269.99 for the 128 GB version.
