14-year-old Doruk Sabuncuoğlu Ford came first in the Mathematics Olympics held in Germany by answering all the questions correctly and won the gold medal.

14-year-old Doruk Sabuncuoğlu Ford, an 8th grade student living in Karşıyaka district of Izmir, left his opponents behind and became the world’s first by answering all the questions correctly at the German Math Olympics held in Germany. Stating that he participated in the Olympics with the guidance of his teacher, Doruk successfully passed the qualifying rounds and qualified for the finals in Frankfurt, Germany. It was learned that Doruk, who represented Turkey for 2.5 hours in the Olympics attended by hundreds of students from many countries of the world, answered all the questions correctly.

It was stated that one of the questions in the competition was canceled due to being incorrect. Thus, Doruk succeeded in all questions, surpassed his competitors and reached the world championship. Making a statement about the Olympics, the 14-year-old student said: “With the advice of my mathematics teacher, I have the opportunity to participate in the competitions I want. I was successful in the first stage. I won the bronze medal in the second stage held on December 14, 2025 and qualified to go to the finals. I came first by answering all the questions correctly in the face-to-face Olympics held at Goethe University in Frankfurt on April 29, 2026. At first I was hesitant about participating in the final, but now I think I’m glad I did. I met people from many different countries around the world and made many friends.

Also, it was a great source of pride for me to leave all the competitors behind and come first.
