Supply contraction for RTX 5070 Ti is on the agenda in ASUS’s RTX 50 series graphics card strategy. It is reported that the company has reduced its production and stock focus on the RTX 5070 Ti side and allocated more capacity to the higher segment RTX 5080 models with the same 16 GB GDDR7 memory capacity. The reason for this change is due to the increase in memory costs in the graphics card market and retailers being more cautious in opening new stocks.
ASUS reduces RTX 5070 Ti stocks. In the new sales note reflected on the channel side of ASUS, there is information that the supply of the RTX 5070 Ti series will be reduced and the production capacity will gradually be shifted to the RTX 5080 series. This doesn’t mean that the RTX 5070 Ti has been canceled completely. However, the card’s weight in the ASUS product range is decreasing. While more mainstream models such as Dual and Prime will stand out, high-end RTX 5070 Ti models such as ROG and Strix are expected to become more limited.
The main headline behind the decision is memory cost and product positioning. According to NVIDIA’s official technical data, RTX 5070 Ti comes with 16 GB GDDR7 memory and 256-bit memory interface. RTX 5080 also uses 16 GB GDDR7 memory and 256-bit memory interface. While the two cards share the same memory capacity, the RTX 5080 stands out as the higher-priced product on the manufacturer and channel side because it is in the higher segment.
Therefore, it is not surprising that ASUS shifted its limited memory and production resources to the RTX 5080 side. Although the RTX 5070 Ti is positioned as a strong model on the performance side, it has lost sales momentum at the current price level. The new cost incurred for restocking the card in the retail channel pushes the sales price even higher. According to the information shared by Hardware Unboxed, the purchase price for ASUS RTX 5070 Ti Prime in Australia has exceeded 1,700 Australian dollars.
That’s why some retailers do not want to open new stocks to replace the cards they sell at current prices. The shared screenshots also show that this situation is reflected on the field. While the price listed for the ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16 GB GDDR7 OC Edition appears to be 1,465 Australian dollars, it is stated that you need to contact the store for the delivery date on the product side. This shows that the product has moved away from a regular and easily available stock structure.
Amazon listings also support the same picture. In the US and Australian screenshots shared by Hardware Unboxed, the RTX 5070 Ti models do not appear to be in a strong position among the best-selling graphics cards. While the RTX 5070 Ti is only ranked 12th in the Australian list, the RTX 5060 Ti, RTX 5070, RTX 5080 and Radeon RX 9000 series models are more visible. This shows that the RTX 5070 Ti is under pressure not only on the supply side but also on the price perception side.
On the RTX 5080 side, it is reported that ASUS has moved on to a more aggressive sales plan. The channel note includes information that the RTX 5080 series should maintain its current market share and that special support will be provided for online sales and the high-end DIY PC channel. On the same note, a new model called RTX 5080 Master EVO is also mentioned.
