Öztürkler, who came to Malatya for a series of visits, told the AA correspondent that Türkiye’s support was a source of pride for them.
Stating that he is happy to be in Türkiye, Öztürkler said: Southern Cyprus never stops. In particular, Hristodulidis (GCA leader) has recently handed over the sovereignty of Southern Cyprus. Where did he transfer it to? He handed it over to foreign countries. Here are the armaments it has made, both with Israel and France. There are agreements made on this subject. He not only turned the island into fire and gunpowder, but also endangered the sovereignty of his own people.
What is he doing? The people of Southern Cyprus spend their national income on weapons. So, when we look at it today, it is exchanging arms with different countries, whether from France or Israel, and it actually spends the income of the people of Southern Cyprus there on armament. – The presence of Turkish soldiers is indispensable for us. Öztürkler stated that the support of the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Türkiye is important.
Stating that Turkish soldiers are on the side of TRNC, Öztürkler continued as follows: Both the Turkish Cypriot Peace Forces and our Security Forces Command very seriously ensure the security of the people of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Even though they make attempts and calls for the Turkish soldiers to leave the island and the termination of the guarantorship of the Republic of Turkey, the Turkish Cypriot people will never allow the termination of the guarantorship of the Motherland Republic of Turkey or the Turkish soldiers to leave the island. This is a bond, a unity that comes from history. That’s why we have always stood tall at this point and continue to stand tall.
– TRNC is an inseparable part of the Turkish world. Emphasizing that the speeches made by the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, at the United Nations are important, Öztürkler said that they have reached observer membership status in the Organization of Turkic States in 2022. Stating that they aim to become full members of the Organization of Turkic States, Öztürkler said: We will not stand back from the Turkish states.
We will continue this struggle by increasing it and at the end of the day we will win our rightful cause. We are pleased to take part in Turkish states. With the support of the Republic of Türkiye, we are taking our relations to a better level, especially with Azerbaijan and other Turkish states. TRNC is an inseparable part of the Turkish world. We have a common history, a common culture. Stating that the Republic of Türkiye has a strong leader, Öztürkler stated that Turkish soldiers constantly protect the TRNC.
