A new price increase for Samsung’s flagship phones has come to the fore. According to the information emerging for the European market, the company may increase the prices of the Galaxy S series, Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7 and FE models starting from the first week of June. It is stated that the increase may start from 100 euros and reach 200 euros depending on the storage capacity. The RAM crisis in Samsung phones may be reflected in the prices.
Memory costs in the technology sector have become one of the most important price pressures of 2026. The increasing demand for high-capacity memory for artificial intelligence servers increases the costs of DRAM and NAND used in consumer electronics products such as smartphones and computers. IDC reports that memory manufacturers are focusing on HBM and high-capacity DDR5 production for artificial intelligence data centers instead of the traditional DRAM and NAND capacity used in smartphones and PCs.
According to the latest information, Samsung is preparing to reflect this cost increase on its flagship phone prices. According to new information, the increases will start in the first week of June. The news states that the price increase will start at 100 euros and will approach 200 euros for some models and higher storage options. Among the models expected to be affected by the price change are the entire Galaxy S series, Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7 and Samsung’s FE models.
This list shows that Samsung may update prices not only on new devices but also on flagship models that are currently on sale. Some sources also make the same claim, stating that the price increase is being discussed for the European market, and that it is not yet clear whether there will be a similar change in other regions. The fact that Samsung is a strong company in memory production does not completely eliminate the cost pressure on the mobile side.
According to the information, Samsung’s memory unit and mobile device unit operate as separate operations, and Samsung Mobile does not have special in-house protection for memory costs. For this reason, the increase in RAM and storage costs is seen as one of the items that may be directly reflected in the sales prices of Galaxy phones. This is not the first time that a price increase has come to the agenda on the Samsung side this year.
Sources state that the company has previously increased the prices of some foldable phone and tablet models in the USA, and the Galaxy S26 series comes with higher prices than the Galaxy S25 series. The impact of the memory crisis is not limited to Samsung only. Gartner estimates that the rise in DRAM and SSD prices could lead to a 17 percent increase in PC prices and a 13 percent increase in smartphone prices by the end of 2026.
The same report also states that global smartphone shipments may decrease by 8.4 percent in 2026 compared to 2025. Similar warnings were also made on the operator side. BT CEO Allison Kirkby said that artificial intelligence investments increase the demand for memory chips and this situation may increase smartphone prices. According to The Guardian, this pressure may affect not only phones but also different electronic products that use memory, such as modems and routers.
It is not clear for now whether Samsung will spread the price increase throughout Europe and what the situation will be like in markets with high import and exchange rate effects, such as Turkey. However, if the increase rates at the center of the claim are true, the prices of the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z families, especially the high-storage models, may change more significantly.
