Nintendo officially announced the price increase decision for Switch 2. The new regulation covers the USA, Canada, Europe and Japan. The new prices in the USA, Canada and Europe will come into force on September 1, 2026. In which countries is the Nintendo Switch 2 price increase valid? In Japan, the price increase will start earlier. The Japanese system version of Nintendo Switch 2 goes from 49,980 yen to 59,980 yen. This change will be implemented on May 25, 2026. However, the price of the multilingual Nintendo Switch 2 model sold on My Nintendo Store will not change.
Nintendo is increasing prices in Japan not only for the Switch 2, but also for the current Switch family. The Switch OLED model is priced from 37,980 yen to 47,980 yen, the standard Nintendo Switch is priced from 32,978 yen to 43,980 yen, and the Switch Lite is priced from 21,978 yen to 29,980 yen. Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch price adjustments are also planned for regions outside the USA, Canada and Europe. For individual membership, the 1-month package increases from 306 yen to 400 yen, the 3-month package increases from 815 yen to 1,000 yen, and the 12-month package increases from 2,400 yen to 3,000 yen. The price of a family membership for 12 months increases from 4,500 yen to 5,800 yen. On the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack side, the individual 12-month membership increases from 4,900 yen to 5,900 yen, and the family plan increases from 8,900 yen to 9,900 yen.

Nintendo’s annual revenue also increased significantly with the effect of Switch 2. The company’s fiscal year 2026 revenue increased by 98.6 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 2.3 trillion yen. The previous year, this figure was 1.16 trillion yen.
