Unsold Sacrifices Will Be Purchased by ESK

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced that the sacrificial animals that could not be sold during Eid al-Adha will be purchased by the Meat and Milk Institution between 1-7 June.

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced a new application for producers who have unsold animals during the Eid al-Adha period. According to the statement, the sacrificial animals that cannot be evaluated in the markets will be purchased under the conditions determined by the Meat and Milk Institution (ESK). Minister Yumaklı stated that the application was put into effect to prevent producers from suffering.

In this context, animals that are not sold despite being shipped to sacrifice sales areas will be evaluated through the state purchasing system. Applications will be made between 1-7 June. It has been reported that the recruitments to be made by ESK will be made between 1 and 7 June. Producers who want to sell their animals to the institution must apply with the relevant documents. During the application process; It will be necessary to submit shipping documents obtained from provincial and district agricultural directorates and documents showing expenses such as entry to the animal market, rent and transportation.

Control Will Be Made Through the TÜRKVET System. During purchasing transactions, the registration status and suitability of the animals will be checked through the TÜRKVET system. Following the examinations, animals deemed suitable will be purchased in line with the purchasing criteria determined by the Meat and Milk Institution. It was stated that the Ministry teams continued their inspection activities at sales and slaughter points during the Eid al-Adha period.

It was stated that the application was implemented to prevent economic losses from producers who could not make sales, especially during the holiday period.
