Yongatek, one of the Turkish defense industry companies, attracted attention with its new collaborations and technology development steps within the scope of SAHA EXPO 2026. The company signed a strategic intent agreement with TIREMO, the umbrella brand of Empa Electronics R&D, at the fair. Within the scope of the collaboration, it is aimed to integrate Yongatek’s microelectronic solutions into the TIREMO® platform and carry out joint studies focused on advanced technology.
Collaboration; It is expected to contribute to the domestic technology ecosystem in the fields of microelectronics, artificial intelligence-supported systems and defense technologies. Yongatek General Manager Ali Baran, in his statement to Defensehere.com within the scope of the fair, said that important stages have been completed in two critical chip projects developed by the company. Baran stated that the microcontroller chip called “Steel MCU” developed for Beko has been sent to production, and that Beko alone has an annual need of approximately 30 million units, and that the total volume can reach 40-50 million units together with the defense industry and other sectors.
Explaining that the “SAKA FPGA” test chip, which is of critical importance for the defense industry, has also been sent to production, Baran noted that the chips are expected to come from production at the end of August and that after the testing processes, a delivery schedule can be given as of 2027, especially for the Steel MCU. Stating that SAHA 2026 was held with intense participation, Baran said that the interest of foreign delegations in particular was higher than in previous years.
Stating that the technological capacity of the defense industry was strongly displayed at the fair, Baran emphasized that Yongatek aims to reduce Turkey’s foreign dependency with artificial intelligence accelerators, communication solutions and domestic chip technologies. Baran also pointed out the importance of the strategic solution partnership agreement signed with Empa Electronics R&D and announced that the trial cards of Yongatek chips will be produced by Empa and the sales channel will be run through Empa.
Yongatek aims to commercialize its products on a larger scale and reach a stronger position in the international market by SAHA 2028.
