7-storey building in Kocaeli was evacuated as a precaution

KOCAELİ (AA) – A 7-storey building in Kocaeli’s Gebze district, where noise was heard from its columns and beams, was evacuated as a precaution.

Some people living in the 7-storey building with 22 flats and 8 workplaces on Şehit Numan Dede Street in Osman Yılmaz District reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center that there was noise coming from the columns and beams.

Upon notice, fire brigade, police and municipal police teams were dispatched to the scene.

After the initial assessment of the teams in the building, which was evacuated as a precaution, AFAD teams were informed.

The teams’ investigation in the building continues.
