KARABÜK (AA) – The protected “paeonia officinalis” flower, known as the “bear rose” in the Eflani district of Karabük, has bloomed.
The plant, which belongs to the ranunculaceae family, blooms once a year in spring in different parts of the district.
Bear roses growing among oak trees in some regions attract the attention of those who see them.
The naturally distributed, protected flower adds color to nature in the region every year from May to the end of June.
Anyone who picks the flower, which grows naturally in areas above a thousand meters, is fined 840 thousand liras.
