18 convicts who fell ill in prison in Zonguldak were treated

ZONGULDAK (AA) – 18 prisoners who complained of nausea and vomiting were treated in the M Type Closed and Open Penitentiary Institution in Beycuma town of Zonguldak.

ZONGULDAK (AA) – 18 prisoners who complained of nausea and vomiting were treated in the M Type Closed and Open Penitentiary Institution in Beycuma town of Zonguldak. 15 inmates in the closed section of the prison and 3 inmates in the open section complained of nausea and vomiting. Upon notification of the situation, 112 Emergency Health teams were referred to the institution and provided first aid to 18 people who fell ill in the prison.

As a result of the evaluation made by the medical teams, 3 convicts and detainees from the closed section and 2 from the open section were taken to Zonguldak Atatürk State Hospital. 5 people who were treated in the hospital were discharged after the examinations, medication was administered and they were discharged. Following the incident, water samples were taken from the prison by the Provincial Health Directorate teams, and food samples were taken by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry teams.

It was learned that the prisoners were not diagnosed with food poisoning and that an investigation was launched at the Zonguldak Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the incident.
