MOGADISHU (AA) – Mavimarmara Solidarity and Freedom Association will deliver sacrificial meat to approximately 10 thousand families in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. In Mogadishu, after the Eid prayer, the names of the shareholders were read one by one by the association officials and the sacrificial animals were slaughtered according to Islamic procedures and rules. Donations of philanthropists were recorded with cutting videos, and the shares were delivered to pre-determined needy people, especially those in refugee camps, by association volunteers from Turkey and local partner teams.
Mavimarmara Solidarity and Freedom Association Foreign Relations Coordinator Bedrihan Güneş told the AA correspondent that they did not only come to Somalia for Eid al-Adha, but also provided food, hygiene and education support throughout the year. Güneş stated that a quarter of the Somali people are in need of urgent aid and said, “We completed our sacrifices in Mogadishu according to Islamic methods and divided the meat into equal parts.
Hopefully, now we will complete our distribution in the camps.” he said. Stating that they had previously visited and identified those in need, Güneş said, “We will offer these people the meat sent by the people of Türkiye. “We will offer meat to ten thousand families in Somalia.” he said.
