NEVŞEHİR (AA) – In Nevşehir, 71-year-old İbrahim Şahin escaped from the phone fraudsters’ trap thanks to the attention of the bank officer. Suspicious of the situation of Şahin, who deposited 2 million 500 thousand lira into his bank accounts with the guidance of people who introduced themselves as police and prosecutors on the phone, the bank officer reported to the police. Şahin was called to the police station and when it was understood that he had been defrauded, the bank account into which the money was deposited was blocked.
Complaining about those who tried to defraud him, Şahin told reporters at the police exit that he was called by the same people one after the other, and that due to psychological pressure, he exchanged the gold he had accumulated and deposited it into the specified account despite his wife’s warnings. Stating that he realized that he had been defrauded when he was called to the police station, Şahin said: He told me ‘I am a police officer’ and gave me his registration number and file number.
He talked to me for 1.5 hours. “How much money do you have?” he asked. As a civil servant, I thought about it and said it all. I had my jewelry in the bank, I cashed it and deposited it into their account. After that, they keep calling me again. ‘We are following your car, we will take you to the prosecutor in the evening.’ they said. They made me sad for 2.5 days, my blood sugar went up. As soon as I said something, they said harsh words to me.
