ERZURUM (AA) – İLHAMİ ERKILIÇ – The leg of electrician Cevdet Çetinkaya, who lost his left arm as a result of being electrocuted during construction in Hatay, was saved with tissue transplantation, surgery and treatments at Erzurum City Hospital. Çetinkaya, a 47-year-old father of two from Erzurum, was seriously injured when he was electrocuted by a high voltage electric current in a construction site where he was working in Hatay about 3 months ago.
Çetinkaya, who suffered 2nd and 3rd degree deep burns on his body, was taken to Şanlıurfa Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital for treatment. Çetinkaya’s left arm, who struggled for life and death in intensive care for 35 days, was amputated at the elbow level. Çetinkaya, who is stated to have his right foot amputated due to the progressing infection, was referred to Erzurum City Hospital Burn Treatment Center by Assoc.

Some of his fingers were amputated. It was difficult for the patient and us to decide on the immediate amputation of the foot. The foot, which we thought might be ‘amputated’, was saved from amputation as a result of successful plastic surgery and orthopedic surgeries.” he said.
