ISTANBUL (AA) – A funeral ceremony was held at the Provincial Police Department for police officer Aydın Membernarık (48), who was seriously injured in a traffic accident involving the police vehicle he was on duty in Tuzla on November 11, 2025, and died in the hospital where he was treated. The body of Membernarik, who was married and had 3 children, and was working in the Patrol Teams Headquarters of the Istanbul Police Department, Tuzla District Police Department, was wrapped in the Turkish flag and brought to the campus on Vatan Street.
In addition to the family and relatives of the martyr, Istanbul Deputy Governor Okan Leblebicier, Provincial Police Chief Selami Yıldız, Deputy Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Gendarmerie Senior Colonel Yusuf İşler, 3rd Army Commander Lieutenant General Rasim Yaldız, Coast Guard Marmara and Straits Regional Commander Rear Admiral Serkan Tezel and their colleagues attended the ceremony. In his speech, Provincial Police Chief Yıldız expressed his condolences to the relatives of the martyr.
Stating that Membernarık was separated from them as a result of a tragic traffic accident while on duty, Yıldız said, “Dear family of our martyr, it is undoubtedly difficult to experience this pain. You sacrificed your most valuable asset for this country. May God grant you patience. We are experiencing the indescribable sadness of losing a colleague and brother. We remember with mercy and gratitude all our martyrs who fell to the ground for the sake of the country, especially the martyr police officer Aydın Membernarık, and our veterans with gratitude.
