ANKARA (AA) – A gastronomy event was held at Türkiye’s Washington Embassy within the scope of Turkish Cuisine Week, celebrated every year on 21-27 May. Representatives of diplomatic missions and many guests attended the event held at the ambassador’s residence, hosted by Türkiye’s Ambassador to Washington Sedat Önal. Within the scope of the event, the Duo Cello-Kanun ensemble, consisting of cello and zither, took the stage.
Musicians Sedef Erçetin and Tahir Aydoğdu performed works from classical Western music and Turkish folk music in the concert themed “A Long Thin Road from Bach to Aşık Veysel”. Within the scope of the program, participants watched the video message sent by Emine Erdoğan, wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on the occasion of Turkish Cuisine Week. Following the event, distinguished tastes of Turkish cuisine such as islim kebab, stuffed vine leaves and baklava were presented to the guests.
