PRIZREN (AA) – Adrenaline enthusiasts experienced the excitement of rafting with truck and tractor tubes in the river passing through the center of Prizren, Kosovo, in order to draw attention to environmental pollution. Approximately 70 adrenaline enthusiasts competed fiercely in the event held on the river called “Lumbardhi” or “Bistricha”, which Kosovo Turks call “Akdere”, within the scope of the 22nd Bonarfest this year.
This extraordinary race, which aims to draw attention to the pollution in the river bed, started at the foothills of the Şar Mountains, where the source of the Akdere River is located, and was completed at the finish line at the historical Stone Bridge in Şadırvan Square. Competitors from Kosovo and various countries experienced challenging and exciting moments in the rapids. The race was watched with interest by the people of Prizren and tourists.
Medals were presented to the successful athletes at the award ceremony held after the race, which lasted approximately one hour. In the competition, Kron Balidemaj came first, Dona Bytyqi came second and Mohul Varma came third. As part of the festival, in addition to the rafting race, concerts and river bed cleaning activities were held.
