ISTANBUL (AA) – In the post made on the social media accounts of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the Yavuz Drilling Ship on duty at Mavi Vatan was invited to participate in the “Zero Waste Festival” to be held at Atatürk Airport on June 4-7. According to the statement made by the Zero Waste Foundation, in the festival to be organized in cooperation with the Ministry, environmental awareness, as well as energy efficiency, renewable energy technologies and Turkey’s vision of energy independence will be introduced to the visitors.

Samed Ağırbaş, President of the Zero Waste Foundation and COP31 High Level Climate Champion, whose views were included in the statement, stated that energy efficiency is not only an application that provides economic savings, but also has strategic importance in terms of protecting natural resources, strengthening environmental sustainability and Turkey’s energy security.
Ağırbaş said, “We will explain to our youth the importance of energy efficiency for Turkey’s independence with the Zero Waste Festival we organize together with our Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources with the theme of “Energy Efficiency, Transformation in the Future.” he said. – The model of the Fatih Drilling Ship will be exhibited. The festival will include energy efficiency themed applications for children and young people, renewable energy training kits, solar energy experience areas, artificial intelligence-supported technologies and interactive activities.
In the event area, content about the drilling ships named “Fatih” and “Yavuz”, which are among the symbols of Turkey’s energy independence journey, the model of the Fatih Drilling Ship, applications for natural gas exploration activities and interactive experiences introducing the energy infrastructure will be presented to the visitors. In this context, the festival will draw attention to the common goals of energy efficiency and zero waste approach, and will emphasize that a society that consumes less energy and uses its resources more efficiently will also strengthen its economic independence and energy security.
The invitation message for the Yavuz Drilling Ship’s festival also attracted attention as a common reflection of Turkey’s vision of complete independence in energy and its sustainability goals.
