With the large-scale drug operation carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, simultaneous raids on drug trafficking were carried out in 77 provinces. A large amount of drugs were seized during the work carried out under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security’s Anti-Narcotic Crimes Directorate and the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. A total of 3,420 teams and 6,376 personnel participated in the operations carried out by the provincial police directorates.
28 aircraft and 58 narcotic detection dogs also took part in the work. 2 Tons, 103 Kilograms of Drugs and Millions of Pills Found. A total of 2 tons, 103 kilograms of drugs and 2 million 685 thousand drug pills were seized during the operations. Within the scope of the work, operations were carried out at many addresses in 77 provinces, including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Adana, Gaziantep, Antalya, Konya, Mersin, Diyarbakır, Bursa and Samsun.
1,187 of the 2,284 suspects detained within the scope of the investigation were arrested. While a judicial control decision was implemented for 337 of the suspects, it was reported that judicial proceedings were continuing regarding the other people. The operations were carried out simultaneously in many provinces. Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ, Muğla, Denizli, Hatay, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Van, Edirne, Erzurum, Kahramanmaraş, Trabzon, Afyonkarahisar, Batman, Tokat, Şırnak, Karabük, Ordu, Giresun, Bartın and Hakkari were among the provinces where the operations against drug dealers were carried out.
In the statement made by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the police units and Chief Public Prosecutor’s Offices who took part in the operations were thanked.
