Munzur University student Gülistan Doku disappeared on January 5, 2020, and many claims were made about the incident. While the case has been on the agenda again recently, allegations that Gülistan Doku was the victim of murder were also put forward. Within the scope of the investigation, it was decided to conduct DNA analysis on some cars belonging to the Tunceli Special Provincial Administration, as well as the official vehicles used by former Tunceli Governor Tuncay Sonel.
It was learned that a total of 5 vehicles were sent to Ankara Criminal Department for examination. CRIMINAL EXAMINATION ON TWO VEHICLES It was stated that in the examination to be carried out on the vehicles, a comparison will be made with the DNA samples taken from Gülistan Doku’s parents. According to Sabah newspaper, some vehicles used during the period when Doku disappeared were also examined. According to the allegations made, it is considered that Doku’s lifeless body may have been transported by one of these vehicles.
In this regard, it was stated that a criminal investigation would be carried out on three official vehicles used by the then governor Sonel, as well as two vehicles belonging to the General Secretariat of Tunceli Special Provincial Administration. MAY CHANGE THE COURSE OF THE INVESTIGATION While the investigation opened after the disappearance of Gülistan Doku was brought to the agenda again after 6 years, different headlines were opened as the file turned from a “disappearance” case to a “murder” investigation.
It was learned that the part of the investigation carried out by the Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the then governor Tuncay Sonel continues in Erzurum. It was stated in the file that possible DNA findings obtained from authority vehicles could be of critical importance for the course of the investigation.
