ANKARA (AA) – Former CHP MPs Gürsel Tekin and Barış Yarkadaş visited CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Some party members also took part in Tekin and Yarkadaş’s visit to Kılıçdaroğlu. Making a statement after the visit, Tekin congratulated the members of the press on the holiday and expressed his condolences to CHP GNAT Group Chairman Özgür Özel, whose uncle passed away. Stating that the CHP is a political movement that has overcome many difficulties and troubles in its history, Tekin said, “In the coming days, you will see a CHP that is busy with Turkey’s real agenda without any difficulties or problems.” he said.
Stating that some party members sometimes behave in ways that will wear out the party, Tekin said, “I hope they will act more prudently from now on.” he said. Reminding that the students at Bilgi University demonstrated a democratic attitude, that while the students continued their protests, they also negotiated and got results, Tekin said, “We wish we could use this negotiation tactic and technique in this father’s home as well.” he said.
Reminding that there were some calls for a congress to be held within 40 days, Tekin continued: “I know very well that all the lawyers next to Mr. Özel know very well that an election cannot be held within 40 days. But it is a great injustice to our party workers that they persistently use these sentences in the name of consolidating the base and deceiving them. They do not give up. You gathered the people that day, after all, you abandoned them at 2 o’clock.
You had a promise before. You said “We will not leave here, we will take all kinds of actions. After all, you have immunity, no one came out and said anything to you. Why did you confront the people at the door with their brothers there? Why is this really unacceptable?” Stating that there was an injunction against the Istanbul delegates and that some of the delegates were detained, Tekin argued that insistently holding a congress with the same delegates under these conditions was not in line with the realities of life.
Tekin said, “We want to complete the process as soon as possible, in a way that suits the CHP’s culture, by starting our congress calendars and never ending up in the court corridors again.” he said. On the other hand, CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu later went down to his house and congratulated Yarkadaş and other party members waiting in the garden. – Tekin also visited the CHP Headquarters. Tekin, who then visited the CHP Headquarters and made statements to the press after his visit, emphasized the importance of the unity and integrity of the party.
Tekin said, “For Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu, for me and for Mr. Ozel, the main thing for all of us is the corporate identity of the CHP. There are very simple things that need to be done without damaging the corporate identity of the CHP or making it controversial. How can we solve this process together, that is, to start a process and mechanism in which the CHP will never be discussed in the courthouse corridors again…”
