SAKARYA (AA) – Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality lifeguard teams started duty at Karasu and Kocaali beaches due to the Eid al-Adha holiday. Continuing their training and preparations before the summer season, the Fire Department Lifeguard Department teams will keep watch on the beaches in the two districts during the holiday. Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department Lifeguard Chief Samet Karaca told journalists, “Our preparations for the summer season have started.
Our training continues. We will keep watch on the beach with our 20 personnel, who are our preparation team, during Eid al-Adha. Karaca explained that there will be 5 towers in Karasu and 1 tower in Kocaali, and said, “Our request from our citizens is to swim in areas where there are lifeguards. Except for these towers, there will be no lifeguard team during the holiday. he said. Providing information about safe areas, Karaca said: “We will have two lifeguards on duty in tower number 5 in Karasu Port location, in tower number 6, 7 and 8, and with 3 jet-skis in tower areas 10, 13 and 14, and in 32 Evler and Akkum regions.” “We will also have 6 lifeguards and a jet-ski on duty in a tower on the Kocaali coast.” he said.
