ISTANBUL (AA) – Citizens in Istanbul spent time in public gardens, beaches and parks on the first day of Eid al-Adha. After the Eid prayer and the sacrifice, there was activity throughout the city, especially in the coastlines, green areas and public gardens. City residents who do not go out of the city have created congestion at some points while spending time with their families in open areas. Many citizens enjoyed the holiday and sunny weather on Avcılar beach.

While some of the citizens preferred to have a picnic in green areas, some sat by the sea and some took a walk. Children also had a pleasant time in the playgrounds on the beaches. There was also activity on the Eminönü coast, one of the important points of the Historical Peninsula. It was observed that the region was mainly populated by foreign tourists and Istanbulites who did not go out of the city. While some tourists and citizens walked on the beach in sunny weather, some preferred to visit historical sites.
