ERZURUM (AA) – In the peace practice organized with the participation of traffic, public order, narcotics and civilian teams in the city center and 20 districts of Erzurum, vehicles were inspected, suspicious people were checked and citizens were warned to comply with traffic rules. 171 personnel participated in the practice carried out in the city center and districts before Eid al-Adha, under the coordination of the Provincial Police Department.
The teams inspected the vehicles during the large-scale peace enforcement throughout the city, checked suspicious people and searched some vehicles. Provincial Police Chief Onur Karaburun, who visited the application points in the city and monitored the work of the teams, warned the citizens to obey the traffic rules. Police Chief Onur Karaburun, in his statement to journalists, wished that Eid al-Adha would bring goodness to the Islamic world.
Stating that the Erzurum police worked 24 hours a day to ensure that the Eid passes peacefully, Karaburun said, “We planned to implement peace in different parts of the city before the Eid. We celebrate the holiday with our citizens and also advise our citizens about traffic rules and other issues and convey our demands.” he said. Expressing that the citizens welcomed them with love, Karaburun said, “I would like to thank our citizens and especially request them to obey the traffic rules.
We are on the field with our entire team to ensure that no one gets into trouble on the road and is not left in trouble by someone who does not obey the traffic rules. We will always be on the phone during the holiday. They can reach the Erzurum police on 112 and the SLEEP program. We serve to help our citizens 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.” he said. – “Let’s follow the rules so that the end of the road is a holiday.” Stating that the teams in the districts are also included in the practices, Karaburun continued as follows: “Our friends are implementing the application in all our districts.
We have 28 application points. Our teams also continue the same application in public places, cafes and parks. We are carrying out our current application with 171 personnel. We have public order, narcotics, civil and traffic police teams. Our practices continue every day. I have been in Erzurum for 9 months. Our shock applications continue at different points, at entrances and exits of the city, at different times of the day, especially at night, at different points, even in side streets and parks.
Therefore, we will be on the field during the holiday period to ensure that our citizens can reach us more easily and immediately resolve any requests they may have.” Pointing out the importance of complying with traffic rules, Karaburun said, “These rules were not created by chance. It is extremely important for our life and property safety. Let’s not set out on the road without sleep, statistics show that most accidents occur 30-40 kilometers before the destination.
While we are reunited with our home and loved ones, we do not want to face any bad consequences. Therefore, please let’s wear our seat belts because it is the security measure that connects us to life. Even if we slow down by 10 kilometers, it is actually a very vital measure. Let’s follow the rules so that the end of the road will be a holiday. No one has the right to inflict this pain on someone else. “We will create traffic culture together.” he said.
