ERZİNCAN (AA) – ÖZGÜR İLHAN – Students who receive practical training on two aircraft donated to Erzincan Hezarfen Ahmet Çelebi Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School are being trained to become aircraft engineers and technicians of the future. The school has two U15 A type and one T141 type aircraft donated by Malatya Land Aviation Regiment Command and Ankara Land Aviation Command. Students who receive training in the fields of aircraft electronics and aircraft fuselage engines prepare for the industry by carrying out practical studies on engines and circuit systems with the theoretical knowledge they have learned in classes.
School Principal Sancak Aslan told the AA correspondent that they are one of the 17 schools in Turkey that has an aircraft maintenance field, and that they are the only school in the Eastern Anatolia Region that provides education in this field. Stating that they provide education in the branches of “aircraft electronics” and “aircraft fuselage engine” at the school that started education in the city in 2011, Aslan continued as follows: “There are two programs in our school, Anatolian Vocational and Anatolian Technical programs.
Students are accepted to the Anatolian Vocational Program according to their diploma grades through the central placement system of our Ministry. Students who get sufficient scores in LGS are placed in the Anatolian Technical Program by our Ministry. 64 students are accepted to our school every year. These students receive training in the field of aircraft maintenance and are employed as technical personnel in the developing aviation and defense industry in our country.
“Today, our graduates work as technical personnel in many organizations of the defense industry.” Aircraft Maintenance Area Chief Salih Özçakır explained that practical training is given in four workshops and said, “Two of our workshops are used as areas where practical applications are made in the field of aircraft electronics and two of our workshops are used in the field of aircraft fuselage and engine.” he said. – “I want to be a successful aircraft technician after graduation.” Kayra Giray Tuncay, a 10th grade student at the Airframe Engine Department, noted that they had the opportunity to receive practical training as well as theoretical knowledge at the school.
Stating that the school offers important opportunities with Erasmus programs and sector collaborations, Tuncay said, “I want to be a successful aircraft technician after graduation.” he said. Meryem Türkmen, a first year student, stated that practical training makes the lessons more understandable and that she chose this field because she thinks the aviation and defense industry will develop.
