TEKİRDAĞ (AA) – As those who spent Eid al-Adha in their hometowns or holiday resorts returned, transportation became busy in Tekirdağ.
Some of the citizens who went to their hometowns or holiday resorts from Istanbul and surrounding provinces for the Eid started their return journey.
On the way back, there was a heavy traffic especially in Yenice, Yeniçiftlik, Beyazköy and Marmaraereğlisi of the Tekirdağ-İstanbul road. Traffic stopped from time to time in Yenice, Yeniçiftlik and Beyazköy locations.
30 teams and 82 traffic personnel from the Provincial Police Department are on duty at the 7 main traffic lights on the Tekirdağ-Istanbul highway. The congestion on the highway is expected to continue until Sunday.
