TEKİRDAĞ (AA) – There is a congestion in transportation in Tekirdağ as those who spent Eid al-Adha in their hometowns or holiday resorts return.
The return journey of those who went to their hometowns or holiday resorts from Istanbul and surrounding provinces for the Eid continues.
On the way back, there was congestion, especially in Yenice, Yeniçiftlik, Beyazköy and Marmaraereğlisi on the Tekirdağ-İstanbul highway.
30 teams and 82 traffic personnel from the Provincial Police Department are on duty at the 7 main traffic lights on the Tekirdağ-Istanbul highway.
The teams inform drivers traveling towards Istanbul that they can connect to the TEM Highway using the Muratlı route.
Drivers heading towards Çorlu and Çerkezköy are advised to choose the Köseilyas District route instead of the coastal road.
The congestion on the highway is expected to continue throughout the day.
