Truck drivers celebrated the holiday away from their families in Kapıkule

EDİRNE (AA) – Truck drivers waiting in line to exit the truck parks at Kapıkule Border Gate in Edirne celebrated Eid al-Adha away from their families. Truck drivers waiting to cross the border experienced the bitterness of celebrating the holiday away from their families. Truck drivers celebrated Eid with their colleagues in the parks after the Eid prayer. The drivers called their families and relatives and congratulated their relatives on their holidays.

– “I celebrated the holiday with my family over the phone.” İdris Sönmez, who took the cargo he bought from Antalya to Germany, told the AA reporter that he spent the holiday in a sad way, away from his family. Stating that he will take the cargo to Germany and return to his family as soon as possible, Sönmez said, “I congratulated my family on the phone. I celebrated the holiday via video. Sometimes we spend the holiday at home, but usually we are on the road.” he said.

Bozan Polat, who took the cargo he bought from Kahramanmaraş to Italy, also stated that the holidays were sad, away from his family. Explaining that he usually spends the holidays outside and has been away from his family for three holidays, Polat said, “I congratulated my family by calling them via video. May they have a blessed holiday again. As long as they are well, comfortable and healthy.” he said.
