ADDIS ABABA (AA) -Turkish Religious Foundation (TDV) has completed its preparations within the scope of “2026 Sacrifice Organization by Proxy” in Ethiopia. A team of 55 people, consisting of Diyanet Foundation officials and volunteers from Turkey and abroad, finished their preparations for the slaughter of 8 thousand cattle in Ethiopia. Officials and volunteers of the Turkish Religious Foundation and veterinarians, who came to the country last week, carried out a meticulous work for the sacrifices to be sacrificed by proxy.
The teams visited the sacrificial markets and completed the earring process by choosing the sacrificial animals that were suitable for health and religion. Addis Ababa Religious Services Counselor Yaşar Cuhadar stated to the AA correspondent that the preparations in the country have been completed within the scope of the 2026 Sacrifice Organization by Proxy and that they are planning to slaughter and distribute the sacrifices in 14 different regions and that they will meticulously deliver the trust of the nation to its owners.
11The water discharged from a height of 173 meters at the Karakaya Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP) in Çüngüş district of Diyarbakır turned into a visual feast. The amount of water in the basin of Karakaya Dam and HEPP, Turkey’s third largest dam and second largest hydroelectric power plant, reached 9.5 billion cubic meters with heavy rainfall. In the Karakaya Dam and HEPP, which has an installed capacity of 1800 megawatts with a total of 6 units, 2 discharge gates of the dam were opened in the first place on May 11, after 7 years, against the risk of possible floods due to the water level approaching the maximum level.
The discharge of pressurized water from the dam set, whose body height is 173 meters, turned into a visual feast. Rainbows occasionally form in the region due to sunlight.
