A funeral ceremony was held today at Fevziye Mosque for businessman and MHP Provincial Board Member Geylani Yenigün, who was attacked and killed yesterday by his friend Uğur Öz at his home in Yahya Kaptan District of Izmit. While Yenigün’s relatives accepted their condolences at the ceremony, his body was buried in Bağçeşme Cemetery after the prayer in the mosque. In addition to Yenigün’s family and relatives, MHP Provincial Chairman Kamil Akın, BBP Provincial Chairman Metehan Küpçü, party members and many citizens attended the funeral ceremony.
WHAT HAPPENED? Businessman Geylani Yenigün met with his friend Uğur Öz at his home in Yahya Kaptan District yesterday, and an argument broke out between the two for an unknown reason. After the argument escalated, Uğur Öz shot Yenigün with a gun and later committed suicide with the same gun. During the check made by the police and medical teams who were dispatched to the scene upon notice, it was determined that Geylani Yenigün and Uğur Öz lost their lives.
