ERZİNCAN (AA) – EMİN FERHAT SEVİLİR – University students in Erzincan donate clean and usable clothes and accessories that they do not use within the scope of the My Closet is Young project and deliver them to their friends in need. Volunteer students of Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University, who stay in the Erzincan Girls’ Dormitory affiliated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, deliver the clothes and accessories they collected through donations through the project to their other friends.
After the clothes brought by the students are checked and arranged, they are made available to the students in need, free of charge, in the area created for the project within the social facility. Dormitory manager Sevgi Ardahanlı told the AA correspondent that the students brought their suitable clothes to the room created for the project within the social facility. – We also included our neighbors in the neighborhood.
Explaining that other students came here and bought the items they needed, Ardahanlı said: “When the clothes are delivered to us, we check whether they need cleaning or any repairs. When we make it ready for use, we arrange it. Our young people who need it can easily come and pick it up as they wish. We also included our neighbors in the neighborhood in this project. We especially ensure the participation of our staff.
Our staff children and young girls bring us their belongings that they will not use, and we examine them and make them available to our young people. What is really emphasized here is helpfulness, tolerance, cooperation and solidarity. We happily carry out this project to keep these feelings alive. Hopefully, we will try to fulfill this project with pleasure in the next education period. – Our friends can come and pick them up with peace of mind.
Betül Rabia Taş, one of the volunteer students, said that the purpose of the project is to ensure solidarity and unity among her friends. Stating that he enjoyed being in the project very much, Taş continued as follows: We did very nice events with my friends. This cycle is really nice because if we bring our clothes that are suitable for use, people in need can also use them. I invite everyone to this. Our friends can come and get it with peace of mind.
We already look at everything before exhibiting them. We do not ask for any form of ID, name, surname or department from my friends who will come here and buy clothes. It is enough for us that they just say they want to come and pick it up.
