The General Directorate of Security (EGM) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will increase its operational power with domestic aircraft produced by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), which will be delivered on Monday, April 13. According to the information obtained by the AA correspondent, the General Directorate of Security (EGM) Aviation Department will add 1 AKSUNGUR unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), 1 ATAK attack helicopter and 1 T-70 general purpose helicopter, produced with domestic resources, to its inventory at the ceremony to be held on Monday.

The Aviation Department will increase its capacity in security operations with AKSUNGUR, which it will add to its inventory. With AKSUNGUR, which can stay in the air for 48 hours and communicate via national satellites, the number of advanced UAVs within the EGM will reach 30. With the ATAK and T-70s to be received at the ceremony, the localization rate in the organization’s helicopter fleet will also increase. With the new vehicles added to the previously received ATAK and T-70 helicopters, EGM’s air power in the operational field will increase.

Within the scope of the projects carried out under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries, 18 GÖKBEY helicopters and 2 more AKSUNGUR UAVs are planned to enter the inventory in 2026 and 2027. With the delivery of 18 GÖKBEY, the domestic production rate in the Aviation Department’s helicopter inventory is aimed to reach 58 percent. Minister of Internal Affairs Mustafa Çiftçi, President of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) Haluk Görgün and TAI General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu are expected to attend the delivery ceremony.
