Businessman’s interest in essence turned into a collection

KONYA (AA) – ABDULLAH DOĞAN – Seyfettin Kocaman, a 41-year-old businessman in Konya, turned his interest in essences, which he started as a hobby about 14 years ago, into a special collection. Kocaman, who produces rubber floors used in parks and gardens in his factory in the city center, draws attention with the essence bottles he collected from different countries and cities in his office. Kocaman, who keeps hundreds of different scents in his specially built showcase, told the AA reporter that he is interested in scents to get away from the busy pace of life.

Stating that over time, this hobby turned into an indispensable hobby for him, Kocaman said, “I started buying the things I liked from the places I went. I started mixing what I had on hand, and these were the scents that I listened to. The more I waited, the more beautiful the scents emerged.” he said. – There are 400 types of essences in the showcase. Kocaman stated that the essences can be enriched with special diluents and different ingredients and new mixtures can be obtained, and said: “There are approximately 400 types of essences.

It has been 14 years. I also make my own mixtures because I love them. At first, I had no knowledge about essences. I started mixing the essences. Our guests are surprised when they come because they think this is part of our job, but it is not. We say we do it as a hobby. “I didn’t know it would be this much either.” Emphasizing that scents mature and gain character over time, Kocaman said that quality essences can be stored for years without spoiling.

– It has a scent that has been aged for 5 years. Kocaman stated that he aged some of the mixtures he made for 4-5 years and said, “We say that the more it brews, the better the scent becomes. It gets more beautiful the longer you wait. A quality essence can last for years. We have 8-10 year old essences here. There are still special scents that I use. “Over time, it became a passion for me.” he said. Stating that special essences he brought from different countries are also included in his collection, Kocaman said that some of the scents he has used for years have a special meaning for him.
