With four different titles to be published throughout 2026, the world of Faerûn will leave gaming computers and be a guest in our libraries. An Origin Story by T. Kingfisher The novel titled “Baldur’s Gate 3: Astarion” and written by award-winning author T. Kingfisher, a regular on the New York Times bestseller list, will meet readers on September 29. The novel takes place before the beginning of the game and sheds light on the dark years of fan-favorite High Elf Astarion under the yoke of the vampire lord Cazador Szarr.
To ensure that the project remains true to the spirit and world of the game, Larian Studios’ senior writer Stephen Rooney is also in the consultancy chair. Moreover, Neil Newbon, who portrayed the character in the game and won the “Best Performance” award at the 2023 Game Awards, will provide fans with a unique experience by voicing the audiobook version of the book.
