Martyrs’ cemeteries were visited in Kayseri and surrounding provinces on the eve of Eid al-Adha

Relatives of the martyrs who visited the Kartal Martyrs’ Cemetery in Kayseri cleaned the area around the graves, read the Quran and prayed. Governor Gökmen Çiçek, who left carnations on the graves of the martyrs in accordance with the provincial protocol and chatted with the families, said that they wanted to start Eid al-Adha by visiting the graves of the martyrs.

Stating that they came together and prayed with the families of the martyrs, Çiçek said, “We wanted to enter the holiday with their prayers. Because we are a nation that lives with its martyrs. The first thing we had to come to was the graves of our martyrs.” he said. Kenan Gürbüz, a relative of the martyr, said that they came to visit the grave of his brother Erhan Gürbüz, who was martyred while guarding the border in Hatay in 2019.

Expressing that the holidays were bittersweet for them, Gürbüz said, “Thanks to our country. My brother was someone who really wanted to be a martyr and he told his friends and family about it. In the Karakaya Dam and HEPP, which has an installed capacity of 1800 megawatts with a total of 6 units, 2 discharge gates of the dam were opened in the first place on May 11, after 7 years, against the risk of possible floods due to the water level approaching the maximum level.

The discharge of pressurized water from the dam set, whose body height is 173 meters, turned into a visual feast. Rainbows occasionally form in the region due to sunlight.
