ANKARA (AA) – Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum shared the images of Sevgi and Davut Tekgöz couple living in Oğlaklı Earthquake Residences in Bağlar district of Diyarbakır. According to the statement made by the Ministry, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change built 455 thousand 357 independent sections in 2 years in 11 provinces affected by the earthquake, following the devastating earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023.

Payments for the earthquake houses delivered were planned to be made in fixed installments, interest-free, with a maturity starting after 2 years and extending over 18 years, in a way that would not cause any difficulty for earthquake-affected citizens. In this context, the state covers 65 percent of the housing cost, including land and infrastructure costs. For cash payment, a discount of up to 74 percent is applied to the sales price of the house.
