KONYA (AA) – Minister of Internal Affairs Mustafa Çiftçi said that holidays are exceptional days when social unity and solidarity reach their peak and the consciousness of being a nation is deeply felt. Farmer performed the Eid prayer at Kapı Mosque in his hometown Konya, where he came for Eid al-Adha. Making a statement to journalists after the Eid prayer, Çiftçi congratulated all citizens on Eid al-Adha. Stating that he is at his father’s house during this holiday, Çiftçi said, “Our holidays are exceptional days when our social unity and solidarity reach their peak and we deeply feel the consciousness of being a nation.
On these beautiful days, we kiss the hands of our elders, make our children happy, take care of the poor, and visit graves and martyrs’ cemeteries.” he said. Stating that the martyrs were remembered with mercy and gratitude on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Çiftçi said: “We currently have security officers carrying out operations within and outside our borders. May God help them, too, and keep them from falling into disrepair.
May God grant this beloved nation to live in unity and solidarity until the end of time. May God not cause harm to our state and nation. Today is Eid al-Adha. May God accept the sacrifices we made and the prayers we performed, and I wish all our citizens a happy Eid.”
