Samsung has expanded One UI 8.5 distribution for its affordable models in the Galaxy A series. Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A17 5G users have started to receive the new update. The software package, which is approximately 3 GB in size, comes with performance improvements, smoother animations, system stability adjustments and security innovations. The One UI 8.5 era has begun in the Galaxy A series. Samsung’s new interface update, One UI 8.5, has been distributed for the Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A17 5G models.
The software released for the Galaxy A26 carries the version number A266MUBU9CZEA. On the Galaxy A17 5G side, the update reaches users with version A176BXXU5CZE9. The size of the update is approximately 3 GB. Therefore, users need to use a Wi-Fi connection and check the device battery level before downloading. In major system updates, it is normal to restart the phone during installation and not use the device until the process is completed.
With One UI 8.5, Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A17 5G offer smoother interface transitions, more stable operation throughout the system, and a smoother experience when opening applications. The update brings the interface regulations that Samsung has recently brought to Galaxy devices to the more accessible models of the A series. In addition to performance and stability improvements, the software package also includes regulations on privacy and security.
Samsung states on its One UI 8.5 page that the availability of artificial intelligence features may vary depending on the device model. Therefore, the feature set offered in the Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A17 5G may not be exactly the same as all One UI 8.5 innovations in the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series. The update is being rolled out gradually. Therefore, users with the same model may not see the software at the same time.
Variables such as region, model number and operator software make a difference in the distribution schedule. Users can manually check the update by entering the Software update section from the Settings menu and tapping on the Download and install option. Galaxy A26 is among the A series models for which Samsung provides long-term software support. The company offers 6-generation operating system upgrade and 6-year security update support for this model.
Galaxy A17 5G is also sold as one of the models with long software support in the affordable 5G phone segment. Samsung’s expansion of One UI 8.5 distribution to the Galaxy A series reveals that the update is not limited to only flagship models. Users who cannot see the update in the first wave must check their device settings at regular intervals.
