Residents of nursing homes in Konya told children and young people about “old holidays”

KONYA (AA) – Residents of nursing homes in Konya experienced the spiritual atmosphere of the holiday at the event where they came together with children and young people. The Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services brought together nursing home residents, children and young people in the program called “Holiday Stories from My Grandfather and Grandmother” organized at Meliha Ercan Nursing Home. The event, which was organized with the aim of strengthening the bond between generations and transferring the traditional holiday culture to future generations, witnessed emotional moments.

Those staying in the nursing home talked about the old holiday preparations, the almost forgotten neighborhood culture, the excitement of the holiday mornings and the importance of family togetherness with their memories. In the program, young people and children kissed the hands of their elders and celebrated the holiday, while nursing home residents had the pleasure of sharing their experiences and holiday values. The event, in which the unity, solidarity and solidarity spirit of the holiday was felt, ended with refreshments.
