ISTANBUL (AA) – While traffic was fluid in the city on the first day of Eid al-Adha in Istanbul, congestion was observed at some points. In the city, where traffic was calm in the morning, activity increased from noon onwards as citizens took advantage of the beautiful weather and went out to visit and sightsee, and some areas became busy from time to time. According to IMM CepTrafik application data, traffic density, which was measured as 6 percent throughout the city in the morning, increased to 36 percent in the evening.
On the European Side, while there is traffic congestion on the D-100 highway in Avcılar Parseller location in the direction of Küçükçekmece, vehicles are moving slowly in the direction of Çatalca in the Haramidere region. Drivers are driving at low speeds due to congestion in the direction of Edirne on the TEM Highway in Bahçeşehir. Traffic also slows down from time to time on the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge and connecting roads.
While local congestion is observed at some points on the D-100 highway in Üsküdar, Göztepe and Bostancı locations on the Anatolian Side, vehicles are also moving slowly on the TEM Highway Ataşehir surroundings and Ümraniye connection roads. There is traffic congestion due to holiday activity, especially on the roads that provide access to coastal areas and in some district centers. Public transportation stops across the city were also crowded from time to time during the day.
