ELAZIĞ (AA) – Water discharge continues in Özlüce, Pembelik and Seyrantepe dams, whose valves were opened after 7 years in Karakoçan district of Elazığ. Following the heavy rains in the region, Özlüce Dam, located in the upper basin of the Peri Stream, and Pembelik and Seyrantepe dams in the sequential system reached full occupancy. Under the coordination of DSI and dam operation management, the spillway gates were gradually opened in order to maintain the water balance and optimize energy production at the highest level.

Water discharge has been continuing for 6 days in Özlüce Dam, which reached full capacity for the first time with the melting of the snow that fell during the winter months in the region and with the showers in spring, and for 2 days in Pembelik and Seyrantepe dams. The water flow rate in the valley and the water levels in the dams are monitored instantly by the teams and the water discharge process continues smoothly.
