DIYARBAKIR (AA) – AYDIN ARİK – The density of visitors during the holiday in Diyarbakır, one of the favorite centers of tourism in Southeastern Anatolia, made the tradesmen experience a double holiday. Diyarbakır, which has many historical and cultural sites such as the historical walls on the UNESCO World Heritage List, İçkale Museum Complex, Ulu Mosque, Ongözlü Bridge, Virgin Mary Assyrian Church, Surp Giragos Armenian Church and Hasanpaşa Inn, hosts local and foreign tourists.
In the city where there was an influx of visitors during the Eid al-Adha holiday, especially the density in the historical Sur district made the tradesmen happy. Tourists visited historical places, tasted the city’s registered local delicacies such as liver kebab, burma kadayıf and stuffed ribs, and bought local products in historical bazaars. Kadri Önal, who runs a breakfast room in the historical Hasanpaşa Inn in the Central Sur district, told the AA reporter that the 9-day holiday made the tradesmen very happy.
Emphasizing that Eid al-Adha was more busy than Eid al-Fitr, Önal said: “Thank God, this Eid was very busy. People from all over the world prefer Diyarbakır because the city is very beautiful.” Everyone prefers this place. I am happy with this intensity. I want another 9 days of holiday. Many of the guests who come here taste the breakfast, Diyarbakır’s registered liver, stew and kebab. May God not let stones touch the feet of visitors, may God not leave our state unattended.
“This holiday was really crowded.” Ali Aba, a nuts and coffee seller, said that many visitors from home and abroad came to Diyarbakır and that the tradesmen were happy because of the busyness. Stating that the density increased as the weather improved, Aba explained that visitors from many cities came to the city. Stating that many visitors prefer Diyarbakır, the “city of civilizations”, Aba said, “The shopkeepers also started to smile.
With the activity of the holiday, tradesmen made more sales. That’s why we are satisfied.” he said. – “Visitors made the shopkeepers smile” Veysi Menekşe, the manager of the restaurant where liver kebab is made, stated that the density was higher than their expectations during the holiday and that the tradesmen were very satisfied. Menekşe said, “The visitors made the tradesmen smile. We send them away happily with the services we provide.
Most of the visitors taste the registered Diyarbakır liver. We also try to please them. Most of our guests leave thanking us.” he said. Legend Kaya, the tour company operator, also stated that Diyarbakır is a must-see tourism city and said that they frequently organize tours to the city. Stating that the guests who came to Diyarbakır left with satisfaction, Kaya stated that the visitors from Kayseri with the tour visited the historical and touristic places of the city.
Kaya said: “Our guests are very happy, very satisfied. Diyarbakır is a historical city, its food is amazing. I am very curious about different cultures and tastes. Of course, we tried the must-have liver kebab, it was very good. First of all, the hospitality of the people here was very nice. “They welcome us with interest and our guests return from here happily.” Şehir Kıyak, who came from Samsun, stated that they came to Diyarbakır for the day and noted that the city is very beautiful in everything.
