ENCEMİNE (AA) – GÖKHAN KAVAK – Sacrificial meat was delivered to thousands of families in need in the sacrifice donation organizations by proxy organized in Chad by non-governmental organizations, especially the Turkish Religious Foundation (TDV). More than 200 thousand sacrifice shares were distributed in different parts of the country, especially in Encemine, the capital of Chad, one of the poorest countries in the world, and Abeşe, the second largest city.
Some of the sacrifice donations were delivered to families in need in the Lake Chad region, and some were delivered to those staying in refugee camps on the Sudan border. While the sacrificed animals were distributed to those in need, the sacrificed meat was cooked on grills and served to those waiting in the slaughterhouse areas. TDV volunteer and Izmir Deputy Mufti Oğuzhan Kadıoğlu, who participated in the sacrifice donation organization in the Central African country of Chad, stated that he came to this country within the scope of the foundation’s sacrifice organization and said, “We have been in Chad for a few days and we have had very different observations about this country.
There is a big difference between learning about Chad from a documentary or a book and seeing it here.” he said. Pointing out that Chad has a large geography, Kadıoğlu said, “The only thing seen in our country is poverty. “There is a large young population, but we see people who do not seem to know what they are doing.” he said. Explaining that as TDV volunteers and muftis, they personally sacrificed the animals by giving their names, Kadıoğlu said that the holiday atmosphere was created by delivering the meat of the sacrificed animals to the poor.
Kadıoğlu called on financially well-off people in Turkey to help people in difficult geographies such as Chad. – “Chad really touched me very much.” Ankara Deputy Mufti Dilaver Şahin also stated that they are working hard to deliver the sacrifice shares entrusted to them to those in need. Explaining that it was his first time in an African country, Şahin said, “Chad really touched me very much. “Here, I had the opportunity to observe how much people need help.” he said.
Şahin thanked those who donated sacrifices from Turkey to different parts of the world, especially Chad, and said, “As TDV, we are sensitive about reaching the sacrifices to those in need. “We also share the aid provided with our donors by making videos.” he said. Türkiye graduate TDV volunteer Izzettin Salih also explained that he received university education in Turkey between 2019 and 2025 and returned to Chad to serve his country.
“Sacrificial aid is very important for Chadians because we have people who have not eaten meat for months.” Salih said that the aid provided strengthened the relations between Türkiye and Chad. Salih said, “You can see everywhere how much the Chadian people love Turkey. Türkiye is my second hometown, I can’t say enough for Türkiye.” he said.
